After years of working in the entertainment industry, Jilene transitioned into retail, where she honed her skills in customer service and product selection. Her love of wine and spirits led her to pursue certifications in wine education, and she soon discovered a talent for identifying hidden gems and rare finds.
Combining her expertise in entertainment, retail, and wine, Jilene created a vision for a wine store that would be both welcoming and expertly curated. About Jilene
Jilene is a visionary entrepreneur, wine enthusiast, and community builder. With a career spanning the entertainment, retail, and wine industries, Jilene has developed a unique blend of skills and expertise.
Born and raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn, Jilene's fascination with the beverage industry began in her childhood, watching her aunts craft and enjoy cocktails in the front yard. She famously declared, "I would never drink!" But, after turning 21, her curiosity got the best of her, and she discovered a new passion.
Jilene's twenties were a journey of self-discovery, exploring various careers - physician assistant, real estate, and even street vending with her family. They sold everything imaginable, including hundreds of bottles of liquor, which sparked an entrepreneurial spirit that would eventually lead her to open her own store.
Jilene has always had a gift for bringing people together, hosting gatherings that evolved into social drinking events. She pioneered the concept of TrapNPaint in NYC, combining painting, top-shelf liquor, and trap music for six years. When the lounge idea didn't materialize due to hookah laws, she pivoted to create Lene's Unlimited Wines and Liquors, a boutique store with a tasting room and engraving machine.
Jilene believes that wine has the power to bring people together and create meaningful connections. She is dedicated to making wine accessible and inclusive, and to fostering a sense of community through education and events.
Jiene takes pride in community outreach, educating her customers about wine and spirits through tastings and events. She honed her expertise by taking sommelier classes at The Wine & Spirit Educational Trust (WSET). Her store has become a hub for wine enthusiasts and novices alike, showcasing her passion for inclusivity and community building.
When she's not curating the perfect wine selection or hosting wine tastings, Jilene can be found exploring new vineyards, trying new recipes, or spending time with her loved ones.
